Duties
- Do basic and specialized maintenance of buildings, infrastructures and land.
E.g.: maintenance, repairs and inspections of infrastructure: replacement of windows or locks, construction of structures (e.g. footbridges)

1 term position:
- Fort Lennox NHS (St-Paul-de-l’Île-aux-Noix)
Anticipatory:
- Fort Chambly NHS (Chambly)
- Forges du Saint-Maurice NHS (Trois-Rivieres)
While this inventory indicates a later closing date, we will be withdrawing applications aroud March 27, 2023 for a first wave of evaluation for employment opportunities this summer.
This process will be used to create a list of qualified candidates to staff similar positions with different employee status, security level or language requirements, in these same locations or elsewhere in the country.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)
* EDUCATION *
Have a high school or a professional study diploma
or an acceptable combination of education (minimum of grade 9), training and experience.
Degree equivalency
- Experience in prepping and performing routine maintenance, construction, and reparation tasks for a range of facilities, structures, and fields
- Experience in coordinating construction and/or maintenance contracts realize by contractors

- Knowledge of standards and practices applicable to maintenance and construction of buildings, structures and fields.
- Knowledge of health and safety standards for maintenance and construction work
- Ability to perform maintenance and repair work using specialized tools or equipment

- Ability to perform inspections and to identify the needs

- Experience operating treated water supply and distribution system equipment.
* ASSETS for FORT LENNOX NHS *
- Own a Master Limited Certificate to operate commercial vessels under 60GT and a Marine Emergency Certificate (or an acceptable combination of formal education, training and experience leading to operate vessels under 60GT)
- Own a Boater’s certification (SVOP)
Conditions of employment
Reliability Status security clearance
- Own and maintain a valid class 5 driver’s licence
- Willingness to wear a Parks Canada uniform and prescribed protective equipment
* CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT at Fort Lennox NHS *
- Obtain and maintain a Master Limited Certificate to operate commercial vessels under 60GT and a Marine Emergency Certificate within 24 month.
* OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS *
- Be able to travel and perform inspections in high, narrow and enclosed areas above, near or on water
- Willingness to work and/or travel in varied terrain, weather conditions, isolated locations and by various means of transportation
- Willingness to work irregular hours, overtime, weekends and/or statutory holidays and provincial/territorial holidays, when required
- Willingness to operate different transportation items such as tractors, forklifts, boats, side-by-side, etc.
This positions are designated as safety sensitive and the incumbent will be required to comply with Park’s “zero tolerance” policy and report fit for duty.
