As a Team Lead, Warehousing, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operational supervision of one or more warehouse locations. Primary duties include:
  • Provide leadership, development and performance management of the warehouse team.
  • Direct and engage employees to ensure they have the required skills, tools, and capabilities necessary to deliver excellent service.
  • Manage day to day warehouse operations including workload planning and workload management, balancing the demand for service within the resource constraints.
  • Support order and inventory management activities to reduce unfulfilled demand and operations to meet customer expectations.
  • Address operational concerns impacting backlog in demand for business units and work on initiatives to optimize physical product flow from contracted vendors.
  • Review supplier performance based on assessed warehouse and logistics metrics in relation to quality, efficiency and effectiveness targets.
  • Provide customer service support to warehouse customers as the primary point of contact for service issues or demands. Manage expectations and work collaboratively with customers on issues and service changes.
  • Develop a positive workplace safety culture, manage completion of safety inspections and investigate and follow up on reported safety issues.
  • Act as the process owner for any assigned warehouse improvement projects at their location(s) from inception to completion.
  • Propose and implement performance improvements for inventory control, warehouse control and transportation.
  • Develop and maintain positive partnerships, deliver required service level, and meet key performance targets.
Qualifications
  • A technical certificate/diploma in a related field, or Journeyman Parts Technician/Journeyman Materials Technician and at least 7 years of progressively more responsible and varied Operations Management, Warehousing or Supply Chain experience, OR;
  • A degree in a related field of study and at least 5 years of progressively more responsible and varied Operations Management, Warehousing or Supply Chain experience.
  • Previous leadership experience is required.
  • A valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence (or provincial equivalent) with no more than 6 demerits, and no current suspensions or charges pending.
  • A Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation or certification with the Association for Supply Chain Management (ASCM) will be considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of health and safety processes and a commitment to developing safe workplace cultures.
  • Strong problem-solving, planning, organizing, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, accompanied with a high degree of customer focus and the ability to build positive relationships.
Working Conditions: This position works at multiple warehousing sites and requires the ability to commute to different operational sites.
