Duties
Provides visitor services and revenue collection, and routine maintenance at entrance gateways, visitor centres and on historic site area grounds to enhance the visitor experience.

Intent of the process
The results from this competition may be used to staff positions within Parks Canada Agency with various employment tenures (casual, determinate, indeterminate), language profiles or requirements (bilingual, English essential), security requirements (reliability status security clearance or secret security clearance), conditions of employment and work locations that will vary depending on the needs of the positions being staffed.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)
- A secondary school diploma or acceptable combination of education, training and experience in a field related to the position
Degree equivalency
- Experience in interacting with the public in a reception/orientation capacity
- Experience in maintenance of facilities
- Experience with Point of Sale systems and cash handling

This position requires the incumbent to
- Make moderate physical effort to sit and stand for prolonged periods and/or to clean facilities/grounds
- Be exposed to variable weather conditions
- Be exposed to noxious odors, fumes and dust from motorized equipment, cleaning products and wet conditions
- Be exposed to potential minor injury when performing cleaning and maintenance activities
- Occasionally demonstrate tasks to others
- Work shift-work, and/or weekends, and/or statutory holidays and provincial/territorial holidays, when required
- Wear a Parks Canada uniform as per the uniform policy and/or dress in period costume as per Parks Canada requirements
- Perform cleaning duties/routine maintenance including minor repairs in Visitor Reception Centre and some grounds keeping including mowing and trail maintenance
- Understand that living accommodations are not provided
- Have their own transportation to and from the workplace (transportation is not provided)
Conditions of employment
- Obtain and maintain Reliability Status security clearance including fingerprints
- Possession and maintenance of a valid Class G driver’s license
